I'll start by showing you our new place. Here is the view in one direction from my window and the balcony! Downtown is only about 3 miles away!
This is what you see when you look straight off our balcony. Lots of trees.
Inside our place...
Matt and Carolyn...
and Toby...
The plants around here are pretty awesome. Lots of cacti! I need to get some pics of the giant masses of prickly pears still.
Some cool flower
Cute little cactus :o)
oooooooOOO aaaaaaaAAAAh
So...These Mexican/Texan bats live under the Congress bridge (the bridge that connects us to downtown) for most of the year. Every night at dusk, about 1.5 million of these bats fly out from under the bridge in a giant swarm. A bunch of people gather on and under the bridge. We finally went to watch them wake up last night.
bats.
BATS!!!!!
The crowd of people under the bridge have a huge and kind of long pillow fight before the bats come out. Wish we knew to bring a pillow...
These shots were taken looking down off the bridge.

AND...Presenting our newest apartmentmate...BACI! Carolyn and Matt adopted him today. Baci is Italian for kiss. (BA-shi) Baci doesn't stop baciing. He is part Shar Pei and part Golden Retriever. He's just been hanging out sleeping since we got back. He's 5 months old. He's very quiet and timid so far, which is probably because he was in a shelter that was apparently not very good.
At home!
I've got 2 interviews tomorrow! One is for a job at Quik Print. The other is for an internship at Jolly Design. Hopefully a paid internship...The description of the place on their website looks really awesome. I could accept a job at Leaf on Tuesday, and I have an interview at this really awesome grocery store called Central Market on Thursday.

Hi Tracie!
ReplyDeleteHe did find a job at a computer store, but it didn't end up working out. He did find some part-time work at a Papa John's for now though.
